The interlock between revolutionary trends and development crisis in Third World countries is at its acme. Like the proverbial egg and chicken relationship, it is becoming more complex, day-in- day-out, to locate the cause-effect relationship between revolutionary uprisings and issues of non-performance of political power holders. Revolutionary leaders point to wanton successive regime failures in terms of unfulfilled electioneering campaign promises and attendant dearth of public goods and services as the justification for their insurgency, whilst political regime commanders blame revolutionary forces for their inability to implement their transformation
\nagenda. As Tattersall (2011:2) observed that poverty, unemployment and lack of education in the far northeast have enabled the Leaders of Boko Haram built a cult-like followership which is as much violently anti-establishment and as fanatically religious. In more serious terms Gwegwe (2011:1) also remarked thus:
\nIt is not surprising that the Boko Haram question is fast gaining space in Nigeria. For a country that has almost been ruined by poor leadership in the political, cultural, economic, and religious sectors; the emergence of the Boko Haram sect is only a positive reminder that God loves Nigeria.
